Dr. Dre Stars in New Imported From Detroit - Good Things Video

Chrysler’s eye-opening ‘Imported from Detroit’ campaign has almost everything it needs now - a famous rapper, a few sportsmen and a fashion designer, but so the only thing that was lacking is a doctor to saw it all together and bring it back to life.

All that changed today, as the detroit automaker revealed a new television commercial featuring rapper and music producer Dr. Dre. ‘Imported from Detroit - Good Things’ features the 2012 Chrysler 300S model.

“As a prolific and acclaimed artist, producer, label head and entrepreneur, Dr. Dre has revolutionized music throughout his career. His work as an artist includes some of the most influential and essential music in hip hop. He is also considered to be one of the greatest music producers of the past quarter century and has also discovered and nurtured incredible talent (Eminem, Snoop Dogg),” Chrysler says.

The idea behind the video is that good things don’t necessarily come to those who wait, but to those who take chances, work hard and late into the night. Dre drives around Los Angeles and beats are poring out of his sick new 300S. He eventually reaches his destination and delivers moving line: "This is L.A. and this is what we do."

The commercial also marks the debut of the Beats by Dr. Dre sound system that is now available on the model - a 522-watt 12-channel amp with unique equalizer algorithms developed by him and fellow music producer Jimmy Iovine. The system makes use of three 3.5-inch speakers located in the instrument panel and two 3.5-inch speakers located in the rear doors to deliver the right kind of mid- to high-range sounds. Two 6-inch 9-inch front-door woofers provide bass, while two 6-inch 9-inch speakers and a center-mounted 8-inch speaker located in the rear-shelf give full-range audio.
