This is an awesome time to be a muscle car aficionado and what further proof towards this than the fact that one doesn't even need to target the range-toppers to get uber-serious thrills? And the latest example of this comes from a drag race between a Dodge Challenger and a Dodge Charger.
The two-door model we have here is an R/T model, which might lead one to believe that its engine compartment houses a 5.7-liter V8. Nevertheless, since we're dealing with a Scat Pack model, the thing packs a 6.4-liter HEMI.

As for the sedan, this also comes with a 6.4-liter V8, as demonstrated by the SRT badging present on the velocity tool.

Gearbox details aside (both machines could pack the eight-speed automatic, but we're not sure), we need to zoom in on the rubber details of the two Dodges. You see, the Scat Pack's factory configuration involves 245-section rear tires, while the SRT comes with 275-section goodies.

And we also have to note that the Charger comes with drag radials. As for how much of a difference this kind of rubber can make, a gap of up to 0.5 seconds shouldn't come as a surprise, albeit with this number being an approximation.

Fortunately, the piece of footage at the bottom of the page, which documents the race, also includes the ET (Elapsed Time) and trap speed of the two Mopar toys, which means you'll be able to get a complete take on the race. So if you're the kind who enjoys betting, now would be a good time to choose sides.
