Just when we though people had quenched their thirst of stock Hellcat drag racing, yet another case of stock condition Challenger Hellcat 1/4-mile shenanigans has appeared. Nonetheless, we have to admit this isn’t your usual Corvette Z06 battle for the Mopar machine.
Instead, we are talking about an opponent that comes from the other side of the drag racing world, namely a Civic. Before you start throwing rotten tomatoes, you should know this isn’t your usual ricer. Oh no.
This is the type of extreme Honda that’s not scared of placing plenty of horsepower on its front wheels. And while we don’t have the specs for this Civic, the thing could deliver north of 500 hp.
As for the Challenger, this is a manual version. This does make things a bit more interesting. Not only does the three-pedal setup lower the Challenger’s sprinting performance, bringing it closer to the Civic, but it also offers us a perspective that’s different to the usual 8-speed auto shenanigan.
The two battled it out at the Island Dragway, in New Jersey and perhaps the most memorable aspect of the race was the soundtrack. That four-cylinder turbo trying to cover up the V8’s burble with its high-pitched voice is downright hilarious.
Since we don't want to ruin the fun, we won’t mention the time of the 6.2-liter supercharged Dodge Challenger. However, we can tell you an automatic will get down the line in 11.2 seconds when using road tires. Check out the video below to see how this Challenger has performed against its JDM competitor.

We must talk numbers now
When it comes to the more specific side of this battle, we can tell you the Honda managed to complete the quarter mile sprint in 13.17s at 125 mph (that’s 201 km/h for all you reading this across the pond).Since we don't want to ruin the fun, we won’t mention the time of the 6.2-liter supercharged Dodge Challenger.
