This is an awesome time to be a muscle car aficionado and the interesting thing is that one doesn't even need to use the range-toppers to prove this point anymore. For instance, we've brought along a drag race involving the Dodge Challenger Hellcat and the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, with this being an example as good as any.
Keep in mind that the standard Hellcat we have here, if we may call it so, is now far from the range-topper. And while the Dodge Demon has gone out of production, we'll remind you that the 2019 Hellcat comes with 717 hp, while the Hellcat Redeye packs 797 ponies (both can be had in normal and Widebody guise).
As for the Chevy, the ZL1 is still the top dog Camaro, but one can also go for the 1LE package, which makes quite a difference when it comes to tackling corners. We'll remind you that the Camaro ZL1 1LE managed to blitz the Nurburgring in 7:16, with the muscle car lap record set by the Chevy still standing.
Returning to the quarter-mile battle we have here, the drivers of the two muscle beasts fortunately turned to the drag strip, thus keeping things on the safe side and benefiting from the prepped surface of the track.
