As far as the supercharged V8 engine is concerned, the Challenger SRT Hellcat is available in four different states of tune at press time. It all starts with the Hellcat, which pumps out 717 horsepower at 6,000 revolutions per minute and 656 pound-feet (889 Nm) at 4,800 rpm.
Next up, the Redeye specification levels up to 797 horsepower at 6,300 revolutions per minute and 707 pound-feet (959 Nm) at 4,500 rpm. The Super Stock retains the peak torque rating of the Redeye, but improves to 807 horsepower at 6,400 revolutions per minute. If you wanna go higher still, prepare top dollar for the 2023 model year Challenger SRT Demon 170.

Modifications over the Super Stock go beyond the 6.2-liter HEMI under the hood, with said mods including beefier driveline componentry. After all, the Demon 170 needs to handle a simply ridiculous 945 pound-feet (1,281 Nm) at 4,200 revolutions per minute. With E85 in the tank, horsepower also improves to 1,025.

You'll need a whopping $96,666 to get your hands on a Demon 170, plus $2,100 for the gas guzzler charge and $1,595 for the destination fee. Only 3,300 are in the offing, of which 3,000 are for the US market.

If you couldn't lock an order due to greedy markups, or simply cannot imagine spending that kind of money on a plaything, fret not because Direct Connection has got you covered. Exclusive to 2019-and-newer examples of the Redeye, this upgrade is officially dubbed "Redeye Stage 3 Kit (DC170)."

DC170 isn't an error, though. It likely indicates the kind of performance you can expect from upgrading the Redeye with said kit. There is no pricing available at press time, and for some reason or another, Dodge also pulled off the kit from Direct Connection's website. On the upside, @ButterDaInsider captured a few screenshots of the goodies included in the Stage 3 kit.

For starters, it bundles the contents of both Stage 1 and Stage 2. Priced at $395, the lesser kit increases the Redeye's peak output to 840 horsepower and 770 pound-feet (1,044 Nm) in conjunction with the Redeye Pre-Stage Kit. The required upgrade includes a performance air filter and a performance thermostat, and it's advertised at $1,195 with 802 horsepower to its name.

Next up, the $1,195 Stage 2 takes the Redeye to 885 horsepower and 787 pound-feet (1,067 Nm) with the help of a 3.17-inch Hellephant pulley. Hellephant as in the 1,000-hp supercharged 426 crate engine that costs an eye-watering $29,995. Finally, things get serious with the Stage 3 upgrade. Listed with an install time of 20 hours (!!!), the kit includes the Hellephant's 105-millimeter snout, 2.0-inch primary headers, a 10 percent overdrive harmonic balancer, colder spark plugs, new head studs and gaskets, ported and CNC-machined cylinder heads, a Demon 170 high-flow fuel pump, 1,300-cc fuel injectors, a 2.72-inch pulley for the supercharger, and – get this – E85 flex-fuel capability.

Can the Redeye's driveline support over 1,000 horsepower and over 800 pound-feet (1,085 Nm) on ethanol blend? Are those injectors good enough for this application? Is the Redeye's 2.7-liter IHI supercharger capable of getting close to the 3.0-liter IHI supercharger of the Demon 170? How much is all this hardware going to cost? Unfortunately, we don't know for the time being. On the upside, Direct Connection warrants the parts for 24 months, the powertrain for 5 years or 60,000 miles (just around 100,000 kilometers), and the vehicle for 3 years or 36,000 miles (circa 60,000 kilometers).
