There are now more camper vans on roads across the globe than ever. Of course, we humans learn from one another, and many of these vehicles end up with lots of similar elements, especially regarding design. Still, once in a blue moon, I stumble upon rigs with genuinely distinctive features. My latest find is this stunning converted Sprinter van, the brainchild of Daryl from Eyesopen Vanlife Workshop.
Daryl is a furniture maker from Salisbury, UK, who, three years ago, diversified his business into making bespoke van conversions. One of his projects is "Lukey," a LWB Mercedes Sprinter designed and built as his own personal camper - it's truly a one-of-a-kind creation.

As soon as you slide the main door open and step inside, you'll be in the surprisingly spacious entrance hall. There's a small utility area on your left, consisting of a small countertop, a drawer, and two cabinets, one of which is overhead. What's more, when the door is opened, you can fold out a table and use it when you're outdoors.

Before we take a look at the other features of this van, I really feel like applauding this van's interior design. The minimalistic white walls are paired with beautiful Inchyra blue cabinetry featuring oak wood elements and leather handles. Everything is blended seamlessly, giving this tiny home a premium and cozy look.

Next up, we have an area that's often the deal breaker or maker when it comes to tiny homes on wheels. I'm talking about the bathroom. In this case, you don't have much to complain about. This van's bathroom is compact yet decently equipped, featuring a full-size shower head and a porta-potty.

A nice touch would've been to integrate the toilet on a drawer slide inside the wall, like in other converted vans, but there probably wasn't enough space to do that. Regarding aesthetics, the bathroom boasts wall panels imitating concrete, which go really well with the black shower head and black sliding door.

Next up, we have the kitchen on the vehicle's passenger side. At first glance, you'll notice there's a lot of countertop space. That's because the couple used wooden covers to hide both the three-burner stovetop and the sink.

Underneath the countertop, you'll discover lots of storage space in the form of cabinets and drawers, an oven, and a 50-liter (13-gallon) fridge with a freezer area. By the way, you won't have any issues storing your stuff on this van, as many overhead cabinets run along its entire interior length.

Opposite the kitchen, you'll find the most unique part of this van: a staircase – how crazy is that? Besides stepping on them, you can use them for extra space when cooking for storage as they hold a bunch of stuff inside, and there's even a tiny rotating table installed on a swivel mount near them, so the stairs can also double as seats.

The stairs lead to a small opening in the van's ceiling, which we rarely see on camper vans. Usually, we have a skylight, but this setup is designed to make it as easy as possible to get on the roof from the inside. What's more, it helps circulate air inside the van, especially when the other windows are open.

Once on top of the van, you'll see a massive pop-top roof, complete with LED strip lights and a roof deck. Underneath it, Daryl added a small mattress. Just imagine you just woke up and prepared a cup of coffee. Then, you pop the roof open and sit on the mattress, taking in some lovely sips of coffee and the beautiful view surrounding you.

In case the weather isn't that friendly, you can bring down the pop-top roof's tent walls, and you'll be all nice and cozy. When you're done spending time up there, you'll use small ropes attached to the pop top to close it.

The only place left for Daryl to install solar panels was on the pop-top. This way, you get even more energy than if you install them flat on the roof. That's because the solar panels are tilted when the pop top is open, producing more power.

Back inside the van, there's one more part of the interior I still need to discuss: the dining area, located at the rear of the vehicle, which also doubles as the bedroom. It's basically a multi-purpose space where the owner and guests will spend most of the time working, eating, sleeping, and more.

The couch is L-shaped, and a small swivel table is in the center. The remaining space is occupied by wooden cabinetry. What's more, there's a projector paired with a small screen, so you're able to watch your favorite movie or series from the comfort of the couch.

However, if you're parked somewhere lovely, you might prefer opening the rear door and fully taking the view instead of watching a screen. Using the back furniture, you could even serve drinks to your buddies outside or enjoy a game of cards. Oh, by the way, the rear doors hold a spare tire and a ladder on their exterior.

To turn the space into a bedroom, you must remove the table, pull out a wooden frame, and rearrange the cushions – it's effortless and quick. The bed will sleep two people comfortably, while the L-shaped lounge setup can accommodate at least three people.

Alright, we have a clever design and an aesthetically pleasing space. The last missing piece is proper utilities, and this van doesn't disappoint. It's equipped with 400 W solar panels, a 220 Ah battery, a solar controller, a DC-to-DC charger, a water heater, as well as freshwater and grey water tanks.

All in all, this is a fabulous rig. It's even more impressive when you realize that a single man designed and built this bad boy. We don't know any information regarding pricing, but I bet you'll have to empty quite a large amount from your bank account if you want to get your hands on this van.
