When Italian coachbuilder Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera designed this beauty, little did the world know how important it was about to become. The luxury grand tourer will always be remembered as the most recognized cinematic James Bond car. That is why, when you see it wrecked like this you can’t but feel sadness and fury at the same time.
Even so, it did happen, and it’s a shame. What you see in the picture above is the scene after an approximately £1 million ($1.56 million) worth piece of machinery was written off in a crash. According to Automotive Photographer Danny Hibbert from Manchester, the classic beauty was involved in a smash with a Vauxhall Astra near Manchester Airport Tuesday afternoon.

The man driving the Aston Martin DB5 and his four-year-old son were both taken to Wythenshawe hospital with injuries. Further details on who is to blame for this mess are yet to be released, but we can tell you this much: real life is nothing like the movies.

Sure, a gifted auto shop will find its means to bring the beauty to its former glory, but with a cost. The front end has taken the blunt of the force of the impact having the front bumper destroyed while the bonnet and grille both seem to be totaled. The front wheel on the passenger side and the front quarter panels will clearly have to be replaced.

Apparently, Hibbert was there to take some shots of the wrecked car and by the looks of it there are further repairs that need to be conducted to fix the mess. Nevertheless, it’s quite a shame to see the iconic model - the same model Daniel Craig drove in Skyfall - being in this shape so we can’t but hope it will receive the proper care.
