Introduced one year ago, the Yamaha FZ-09 top-drawer naked beast now receives 2 custom seats from Corbin. The Gunfighter and Lady seats are direct replacement for the stock saddles, and promise a much more comfortable time spent aboard this very sweet machine.
Both saddles are manufactured according to the highest Corbin standards and are rubber-mounted to protect the paint on the FZ-09, while fitment is flawless, thanks to the advanced molding and manufacturing process. The saddles also neutralize the seating platform and curb the tendency to slide towards the tank under braking, adding to the overall comfort in most scenarios.

Built with Corbin’s Fibertech basepans, both the Gunfighter and Lady seats use Comfortcell foam for a plush feel, while helping eliminate pressure hotspots and ensuring a more even weight distribution across the surface of the saddle. With the Comfortcell foam and the genuine leather cover breaking in over time, a custom shape will be achieved, furthermore enhancing the comfort.

The Gunfighter has a sleek solo look, but it is intended for two-up riding. Smart shaping provides a very cool fastback look which matches the lines of the bike, adding a very racey hump to the tail section, though offering excellent support for the passenger. The rear section of the Lady seat is sculpted for a more svelte attire, adding a slightly more aggressive note to the bike.

Both saddles come with a latch bracket to allow riders easy access using the ignition key, just like the stock seat, and have an integrated mount for the optional backrest, making installing and tearing it down exceedingly easy and quick. The seats are available in multiple leather grain options and vinyl patterns including the popular Asphalt, Alligator Carbon Fiber and many more. Prices start at $493 (€362) with backrests and the Glovebox offered optionally for extra dough.

The 2014 Yamaha FZ-09 is marketed as MT-09 in Europe and was launched in June 2013. It uses an all-new 3-cylinder cross-plane engine packing a 847cc displacement, and capable of delivering 85Nm (63 lb-ft) of torque and 115 horsepower. With a 188 kg (415 lbs) wet weight, the 2014 FZ-09 surely looks like being quite a blast to ride, and honestly, it’s good to see Corbin seats doing justice to it. The stock seat looks like crap and adds a most unwelcome cheap note to this otherwise awesome machine.
