Coca Cola Consider F1 Sponsorship Deal?

World's largest drinks company Coca Cola is rumored to be interested in a sponsorship deal inside Formula One. Although it's hard to believe such a huge investor is considering a financial deal within the Great Circle in politically chaotic times such as these, it emerged that the company is, in fact, taking it seriously.

According to the GMM news agency, it seems Coca Cola's newly appointed CEO, Muhtar Kent, is a huge fan of Formula One racing and was spotted in the VIP area at the Istanbul Otodrom two weekends ago.

Maybe if the stands had been properly filled by the Turkish fans during their home grand prix, his presence might have remained “under cover”. However, with the Istanbul grandstands half full, Kent was the hit of the Turkish weekend.

Although he didn't comment on a potential involvement – financially – in Formula One, Kent was apparently a very active VIP member two weekends ago. Having stepped up as Coca Cola CEO back in 2008, Kent is currently living in the United States (which may lead to several rumors connecting his company with newly F1 entrants US F1) despite his Turkish ancestry (which may lead to rumors suggesting a sponsorship deal for the dying Turkish Grand Prix).

This is not the first time Coca Cola is rumored to be considering an F1 move, as it was no longer than 4 years ago that they were looked upon as potential title sponsors of the Great Circle. They dismissed such suggestions of the time, but left the door open for a future collaboration with Bernie Ecclestone's series.
