Brawn GP Signs Sponsorship Deal with MIG

Brawn GP's winning streak in Formula 1 this season started attracting a considerable amount of sponsors for their racing operations at Brackley. The last one to come on board is Swiss foreign exchange company MIG. The logo on the company was seen on Brawn GP's 2009 challenger during the Friday morning practice session of the Chinese Grand Prix.

As compared to the other two companies that have already committed to sponsorship deals with Ross Brawn's team – British clothing manufacturer Henri Lloyd and Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Group – MIG has announced the duration of its financial partnership with the team. The contract was signed for the upcoming 3 years, but the amount of money entering Brawn GP's operations is yet to be announced.

Following today's appearance of the MIG logo on the BGP 001's nose and front wing, it will soon feature on the racesuits of drivers Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello, and on the overalls of the Brawn GP race team, from the Spanish Grand Prix in May.

“We are delighted to welcome MIG Investments to Formula One and to the Brawn GP team. Our team has had a great start to the 2009 Formula One season and we are very pleased to have secured our third new partnership,” said team owner Ross Brawn in a statement.

“In a difficult economic climate, it is a positive sign that the appeal of Formula One continues to attract new companies to invest in our sport. We look forward to working closely with MIG Investments to help drive global awareness of their brand through the powerful communications platform of Formula One,” added the statement.

“We are extremely proud to be joining ranks with Formula One’s newest sensation, the Brawn GP team. Our partnership with Brawn GP is further testimony to our strong industry position and confidence. We look forward to a fruitful and rewarding relationship together,” said Hisham Mansour, CEO of MIG Investments.
