With parts that were snatched from the SLS AMG M159 version of that engine, the CLK Black Series V8 was good for 507 Horsepower and 630 Nm (464.7 lb ft). This gave the car a naught to 100 km/h (62 mph) time of just 4.3 seconds and an electronically-limited top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph).
The guys from Weistec Engineering didn't find those figures adequate and decided to up the ante. Recently spotted by car photographer Larry Chen for Speedhunters, this Weistec-tuned CLK Black Series is probably the most powerful of its kind in the world.
There are no official number available yet for the car, apart from the unbelievable 290 km/h (181 mph) in the quarter mile (402 m). Considering that among the extensive modifications on the engine it has an ice-bucket for the rear differential and a three-liter twin-screw supercharger, the total power of the car should be close to 1000 horsepower at the crank.
