Classic Overtaking Fail With a Twist - Literally !

The previous generation Opel Astra sedan, a car not renowned for its stability and great chassis (quite the opposite, in fact) causes a very serious crash on a two-laned Russian road. The driver attempts an overtake, passing a truck first, then a bus.
However, after having passed the bus, the driver of the Astra loses control of the car, clips an oncoming truck and causes that truck to swerve straight into the bus it had just passed. It’s pure carnage - we weren’t expecting it to be this bad when we first saw it.

The moral? Don’t buy an Opel Astra sedan. Make sure you have enough time and space to overtake safely and never attempt a sudden overtake if you know your car’s engine isn’t up to the job, as it can be extremely dangerous as whenever you are overtaking, your speed is above that at which you normally travel at (even by a small amount) - this increase in speed makes such maneuvers even more dangerous!
