If you were thinking of buying a Citroen DS3, but you weren`t doing so because it didn`t come with a red grille, mirrors and roof, we have very good news for you. The French manufacturer has just revealed their DS3 Red special edition, which does its name proud, by adding a dash of red into the already successful DS3 formula.
It gets either white or black paint finish, the latter being an optional extra, yet all cars come with contrasting red roofs, mirror caps and front grilles, while the 17-inch rims are painted to match the body. Red is also present inside the car, and it is immediately obvious - a large piece of plastic trim running across the entire length of the lower part of the dash.
Various options can be specified, yet DStyle trim cars get the Citroen Connect Signature pack, which includes Bluetooth and USB connectivity, as well as additional speakers for the standard stereo system. Opt for a DSport trim car, and you get rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlights, rear parking sensors, electrically folding door mirrors, ambient lighting and a central armrest, for the front.
In DStyle trim, the car is available with either a 1.6-liter 120 hp petrol engine, or the familiar 1.6-liter HDi unit, in its lowest power output - 90 hp. The petrol costs from £15,655, while the diesel starts at £200 more. Ford the higher-powered versions of the two engines, a DS3 THP 155 starts at £17,780, while the diesel, which gets 115 hp and a six-speed gearbox starts at £18,060.
