Sebastien Loeb, the defending world champion, triumphed in the Argentinean Rally on Sunday, and secured his 70th career victory in WRC. Second place went to Finnish driver Mikko Hirvonen - the only one who could have contested Loeb’s supremacy after Peter Solberg and would have been a match for him failed to finish the event.
After a bad start with three spins on Friday, Loeb was 4th overall after the first day, but managed to take the pole after Peter Solberg veered of the road and damaged the suspension and steering components of his Fiesta WRC and was forced to call it a day.

Solberg minimized the negative effects caused by his retirement from the race, thanks to the bonus points awarded to him as the winner of the Power Stage. Third place was occupied by Mads Ostberg, who benefited from Dani Sordo’s early retirement from the race due to a mechanical failure.
