Citroen Introduces the Berlingo First 750

Citroen’s UK division is introducing an upgraded version of the Berlingo First light commercial vehicle that offers a superior payload.

The vehicle has had its payload upgraded from 600 kg (1,322 lbs) to 749 kg (1651 lbs), allowing customers to make better use of practicality. The vehicle has also been renamed, using the Berlingo First 750 designation.

Now the unique Citroen Berlingo First packs an even greater payload punch. The latest upgrade of this perennially popular van sees it benefit from a major increase in payload from 600kg to 749kg. To reflect its 25 percent payload boost, this model is now designated as the Berlingo First 750,” stated the press release.

The payload increase has been achieved thanks to multiple engineering modifications that include the addition of an underbody engine protection plate and suspension revisions. As a result, the vehicle’s gross weight has raised from 1,730 kg (3,814 lbs) to 1,955 kg (4,310 lbs), while the trailer towing capacity has been raised to 1,070 kg/2,359 lbs (this is referring to trailers that are equipped with a braking system).

The Berlingo First 750 comes with a standard equipment list that includes a high-frequency remote control central locking, electric front windows, an electrically adjustable passenger side door mirror and a sliding side load door. The vehicle has a price of 11,435 pounds (EUR12,845 or $18,005).

"The well-proven Berlingo First is now an even better budget choice for van buyers. With its latest payload and towing gains, this van remains a practical and economical choice for a wide range of businesses,” said Robert Handyside, Citroen’s Commercial Vehicle Operations Manager.
