Citroen Giving Us More of Its DS3 Racing

As any fast car that has been engineered to deliver a cocktail of explosive emotions, the Citroen DS3 Racing has one major disadvantage: its price. However, we are not here to talk about this, but to discuss another reason that might prevent you from becoming the adrenaline-abusing owner of such a French temptress - its exclusivity.

When Citroen introduced the DS3 R, it announced that only 1,000 units of the vehicle will be brought to the world. However, the vehicle’s sales took off quite early, which determined the carmaker to extend the production to 2,000 units, as autocar reports.

And it seems that the company might raise the stake again, adding another 1000 units to the car’s production - this is currently only a plan and hasn’t received the green light yet.

We love reminding you that the DS3R is powered by a specially tuned 1.6-liter unit that elivers 207 hp and a maximum torque of 275 Nm, which allows it to play the 0 to 62 mph game in 6.5 seconds and offer a top speed of 146mph (235 km/h).

Let’s take some time to remember how Citoren describes the fancy racer: “Developed by Citroën Racing - the winning team behind five WRC Manufacturer's titles and six Driver's titles for Ssbastien Loeb and co-driver Daniel Elena - Citroën DS3 Racing has an impeccable sporting pedigree. Respecting all of the fundamental design codes of DS3, Citroën DS3 Racing adds many more motorsport inspired features, including carbon fibre components such as the rear diffuser, front bumper, side rubbing strips and wheel arch extensions.
