The E-Class Mercedes-Benz is often associated with cab drivers, especially in Germany, but in many other European cities as well. The cars which operate in Germany are usually painted a type of light-beige, which immediately identifies them for what they are.
However, the French have never really had one car to define the high-end part of the taxi spectrum. Well, now with the new DS5, they could capitalize on the idea, and make it a recognizable icon, like the E-Class has become. A beige taxi version was shown at the European Taxi Fair, in Cologne, Germany, in hybrid form. We say it would be ideal as a taxi, because it is ‘very French’ in its design, it’s green and very distinctive - people would want to ride in it.
Sadly, we don’t think this idea will take off, but it is still nice to picture lots of these, in Paris, aimlessly circling L’Arc de Triomphe, trying to get off at the correct exist...
