The second member of Citroen's new DS family is here: the French carmaker is introducing the DS4 premium compact.

Based on the Citroen C4, the vehicle measures 4.27m in length, 1.81m in width and 1.53m in height. Even though the car comes in a coupe-like form, Citroen promises that this does not sacrifice practicality, as the vehicle is a proper 2+2 (the handles of the rear doors are hidden), offering rear seats that can accommodate 2 adults and providing a boot space of 370 liters.

The car features top interior and exterior design solutions that are aimed at offering a premium feeling, such as chrome touches, a panoramic windscreen and a special leather finish.

At the front of the car, we can see LEDs around the fog lights, as well as a DS signature on the hood. The wheel arches use a bold design and can accommodate rims of up to 19 inches in size, while the wasteline uses chrome accents. The roofline is beautifully arched, with the rear of the vehicle receiving a spoiler. Chrome is also used for the rear bumper.

Under the hood of the DS4, we can find five Euro 5 engines, two HDI diesels and three petrol units. The petrol engines were developed together with BMW and offer 120, 155 and 200 hp. The top of the range THP 200 1.6 liter unit delivers a maximum torque of 275 Nm and only emits 149 grams of CO2/km. The diesel engines produce 110 and 160 hp and are fitted with Citroen’s Diesel Particulate Filter System. All the engines in the range can come with six-speed manual or robotized manual ESG transmissions.

In addition to that, the HDi 110 engine can be ordered with the micro-hybrid technology that brings optimized ESG gear changes, a new Stop & Start system and a smart alternator that recovers energy during braking. Citroen promises that the technology can cut fuel consumption by up to 15% in crowded urban environments.

Citroen allows owners to personalize the interior of the DS4. One example for this would be the offering of five leather combinations that also include two-tone combinations. The top versions also use leather for the dashboard and door panels. The vehicle also offers chrome details and aluminum pedals.
