The Citroen C4 is only sold in hatchback form in Europe, yet for the Chinese market, where rear legroom is placed above most other aspects when buying a car, the French manufacturer has decided that a sedan version would be very suitable, as well.
It is called the C4L, with the ‘L’ standing for ‘Lounge’. It features a slightly longer wheelbase, and different rear styling, which is very close to that of the DS4 premium crossover, a car which clearly inspired it. The front end is also different, featuring LED DRLs on the lower part of the bumper, as well as a redesigned grille.
The car is set to be launched by the end of this year in China, and Russia will follow in 2013, and perhaps some Eastern European markets, where the old C4 sedan, a much less-attractive car, was sold. It will feature the exact same range of petrol engines as the hatchback, but the presence of all the diesels on all markets is questionable at the moment.
