Word has it Chrysler is developing a new large luxury crossover utility vehicle that will be lauched for the 2017 model year.
This piece of information comes via The Windsor Star, who also claims the new CUV will be built at the Windsor Assembly Plant in Canada. The new vehicle would likely be similar to the Chrysler Pacifica, a mid-size crossover sold from 2003 to 2007, and could rival cars such as the Buick Enclave, Acuda MDX, Linoln MKT and GMC Acadia.
“It might not necessarily be a luxury vehicle. It would probably border, based on price, between a large CUV or large luxury CUV. If the starting price is above $38,000 in today’s market it would be a large luxury,” said Haig Stoddard, industry analyst at WardsAuto Information Products.
In other related news, the Windsor Assembly Plant will also build the next-generation Chrysler Town & Country, which is scheduled to hit the market as a 2016 model.
