The Chevrolet Impala Limited sedan, the fleet-only version of the ninth-generation model (2006-2013), will be sold until 2016. Although the vehicle was scheduled to be discontinued in 2014, it will stick around for two more years due to fleet customer demand.
“The Impala Limited has done extremely well. Our fleet customers know the car and like it. It’s a business opportunity that we want to continue to fulfill,” General Motors spokesman Chad Lyons said according to Automotive News.
This means that the GM plant in Oshawa, Canada, will keep on building the ninth-generation Impala, although production of the sedan was scheduled to close in mid-2014.
When the redesigned Chevrolet Impala was launched earlier this year, General Motors decided that the outgoing model will remain in production as a fleet-only sedan under the Impala Limited moniker.
The 2014 Chevrolet Impala Limited is priced from $25,830.
