When a tuning company hears the Porsche Cayenne name, its specialists are already rubbing their hands in excitement. The engineers just love to work with the engines provided by the Zuffenhausen automotive producers, while is some cases the designers are ready to take the SUV’s aesthetics to a whole new level.
The latest modification kit that targets the Porsche Cayenne comes from Cargraphic. The tuning pack is aimed at offering superior performance for the diesel version of the car.
This uses a 3.0 liter V6 powerplant that delivers 240 hp and a maximum torque of 405 Nm when it leaves the factory. The tuner has taken the unit, made a few tweaks here and there and is offering diesel-lovers a new level of power and torque.
This means that the engine now develops 292 hp and a maximum torque of 644 Nm.
However, things get a little bit complicated if we try to see how that is being transmitted onto the road.
Cargraphic says that its kit allows the Cayenne to reach 62 mph in 7,74 seconds. But that’s just under the Cayenne’s official 0-26 sprint time of 7.8s. However, the tuner claims that it has measured the car’s 0-62mph sprint and obtained a time of 9,09 seconds! This is quite a big controversy here, but we’ll move on now.
The Cargraphic Cayenne can reach 93 mph from a standing start (150 km/h) in 14,76 seconds (versus the Cargraphic-measured 18.74 stock time). The tuner promises that the SUV can reach a top speed of 141 mph (228 km/h) -the standard Cayenne diesel tops at 135 mph (218 km/h).
