VW Master Car Design Scholarships Out for Grabs

German manufacturer Volkswagen, together with Scuola Poltiecnica di Design announced last week it has opened the books for all those willing to take part to the 1 year Master Program in Car and Transportation Design, which kicks off on October 21st.

The program, aimed at finding the best of the best designers coming from universities, design and engineering schools, will try to develop car concepts for Lamborghini, Audi and Volkswagen. Those admitted into the program will work with automotive design icons like Walter De Silva and the designers from the Design Centre of the Volkswagen Group.

In the past years, the program was responsible for developing concepts mostly for VW group brands, with the most notable projects being the Lamborghini Next, the Audi Avant Concept and for Max4.

According to the two organizing bodies, the focus of the program will be both exterior and interior design, while encompassing the contemporary lifestyles, design trends, social and ecological issues, technological and production restraints.

To be admitted into the program, you have to hold a degree in Car Design, Industrial Design, Engineering or their equivalents, be a student from Car Design schools or “have gained significant professional experience in the field.“
