With enough talent and love for cars, most of the petrolheads out there spend proper time in the garage. After all, every man has a special relation with his car and that connection grows deep only when you start getting your hands dirty under the bonnet.
Now and then, however, you hear of motorists who took their love for cars to a whole new level, with some building their daily driver from ground up, just like this fellow here. Canadian JF Launier is a good example of the car people we’d like to be someday; one of those persons who will not rest until their dream ride is there. Some save up decades to finally buy it, others prefer building them.

When this talented mechanic bought the chassis, it was rather a rust bucket worth about $400 bucks, but now it drives as good as it looks. The 39-year-old enthusiast claims he spent 22,000 hours and $300,000 to pimp the hell out of the wreckage that the vehicle was when he first purchased it. According to what he told the fine people over at Barcroft Cars, he even remortgaged his parent’s house as well as his own to finance the project.

Yep, he was that excited to see the car running again full gear. Hard work eventually pays off and so did his efforts considering that the car - named Rivision - won the Ridler award for America’s most creative and innovative custom car at last year’s Detroit Autorama.

More details, you’ll find out watching the video below, but we need to mention that Launier is, in fact, the owner of a custom shop in Osoyoos, British Columbia, Canada. In other words, there’s a little bit of cheating when it comes to the making of it. Even so, we’ll tip our hats to this guy!
