The RX models is Lexus’ best-seller SUV so far, but to keep it there improvements need to be made periodically, especially due to the fact that it has the same overall shape since forever.
Every change so far with the RX happened mostly at the front and inside a bit, by adopting L-shaped daytime running lights, some aggressive vents, new spindle grille and a slightly improved interior.

Continuing to use this same technique, Lexus Canada decided to ditch the standard RX model and replace it with an enhanced Sportdesign edition, which adds both more style and convenience in the same package.

“Canada’s popular luxury crossover gets a fresh exterior plus additional features and luxury amenities for the 2015 model year, with the new SPORTDESIGN,” said Cyril Dimitris, Director of Lexus Canada. “What’s more, guests looking for additional luxury can opt for a choice of upgrade packages which bundle popular enhancements. From the performance-focused Lexus RX 350 F SPORT, to the advanced power and technology of the Lexus RX 450h hybrid, there’s a Lexus luxury crossover for every discerning Canadian.”

The Lexus RX 350 Sportdesign comes with added amenities like perforated leather seats, heated/ventilated front seats, power moonroof, new 19-inch alloy wheels, power mirrors with integrated signal and puddle lamps, HID headlamps with auto-leveling system, LED foglamps and daytime running lights, a redesigned front bumper, silver roof rails and more.

All these features are going along with previous standard goodies like a 12-speaker Lexus Display Audio System with multiple connectivity, steering wheel-mounted controls, dual-zone automatic climate control, Lexus Smart Key system with push-button start, power-adjustable front seats and more.

Power comes from the same 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine making 270 hp and 248 lb-ft of torque mated to a six-speed automatic super ECT transmission.

For added luxury, the 350 Sportdesign can be had with two available extra packages:
  • Touring Package: heated wood/leather steering wheel, in-dash DVD player, Blind Spot Monitor, Intuitive Parking Assist, Voice-Activated navigation with Lexus Remote Touch, wood/leather shift knob and electrochromic mirror.
  • Technology Package (builds on Touring): Lexus Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management system, 15-speaker Mark Levinson Surroun Sound system with 7.1-channel speakers, Head-up Display, woodgrain trim, front illuminated doorsill trim and more.

The new RX 350 Sportdesign starts at a MSRP of $50,600.
