How better to spend the day before Christmas Eve than by racing a 1,600-hp Bugatti against two world-class superbikes in a quarter-mile drag race? Well, playing Grand Theft Auto VI comes to mind, but seeing that won't happen until 2025, let's just stick to what we've got now, right at the very end of 2023.
Before we get to the 2-wheelers, let's stop by the $5,000,000 Bugatti Chiron Super Sport first. The last time we saw this baby in action was when Mat Watson from "Carwow" raced it against a highly beefed-up Lamborghini Huracan that produced 1,578 hp (1,600 ps) with 1,106 lb-ft or 1,500 Nm of torque.

The Super Sport is based on the Chiron Super Sport 300+, which has that name for a pretty good reason. Once upon a time, it became the third fastest production car in the world, reaching 305 mph or 490 kph.

Today's 1-of-30 AWD Chiron is a less powerful but classier version of the 300+, and its top speed is 273 mph or 439 kph. This is thanks to the 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine that can deliver 1,578 hp (1,600 ps) and 1,180 lb-ft (1,600 Nm) of torque. Weight-wise, the scale needle points at 4,398 lbs. or 1,995 kg.

Next, we have a Kawasaki Ninja H2R. The last time we saw it in action, it was going up against a Porsche 911 Turbo S in a U-drag race, where it got shamed. The H2R isn't anything to scoff at because it's powered by a supercharged 998-CC l4 engine.

It has a 6-speed manual transmission system and can output 305 horsepower (309 ps) with 122 lb-ft or 165 Nm of torque. It weighs 476 lbs. or 216 kg and costs close to $60,000.

Finally, we have the Italian Ducati Panigale SP2 with a 1.1-liter V4 engine, which delivers 213 hp or 216 ps with 91.4 lb-ft or 124 Nm of torque. It's less heavy than the Kawasaki H2R, at 430 lbs. or 195 kg. In the UK, it costs 35,500 British pounds, which in US dollars would mean around 45,000.

Now that we're finished introducing our guests, let's see them battle. As expected, during the first race, the 1,578-hp Bugatti launched like a spaceship, leaving the bikes behind all the way to the finish line. Sadly, the bikes didn't stand a chance.

The second time, the Kawasaki got a better handle on things and challenged the Bugatti for all its worth. It couldn't be stopped, crossing the finish line first. The poor Ducati was still last, unfortunately.

The third race was breathtakingly neck-and-neck between the Chiron SS and the H2R, but the former managed to finish first, scoring two wins for the 4-wheeled team. The Bugatti completed the quarter-mile in 9.6 seconds. The Kawasaki Ninja H2R did it in 9.7 seconds, and the Ducati Panigale V4 SP2 crossed the line in 10.4 seconds.

After the drag races, they went for some 1/2-mile roll racing, where, surprise, surprise, the Bugatti Chiron won again, maxing out at 198 mph or 319 kph. Well, the moral today is that a $5,000,000 hypercar can beat other less expensive vehicles. Who could have predicted that?

In all honesty, while the bikes are insanely expensive for a "daily driver," but even put together, they're still almost 48 times cheaper than the Bugatti. So the question is, who's the real winner?
