Cadillac, Sponsor of the World Golf Championships

Seeing how getting its name on the front entrance of a golf tournament can be good for business, American manufacturer GM sent the Cadillac brand on a search for the best such competition to sponsor. Cadillac came back from the search as title sponsor of the Doral Golf Championships.

GM's luxury brand will become title sponsor for the event which will be hosted at the Doral Golf Resort & Spa in Doral, Florida and will act as an umbrella sponsor for the World Golf Championships.

“We are absolutely delighted to once again partner with Cadillac, which has a long-standing history with professional golf,” said PGA TOUR Commissioner Tim Finchem. “We couldn’t be more pleased to welcome Cadillac back through this sponsorship with the World Golf Championships.

“We believe that the World Golf Championships will provide Cadillac with an effective and valuable marketing platform that will provide an excellent return on its investment. In addition to today’s announcement about the return of the World Golf Championships to Miami, we also look forward to exploring opportunities with Cadillac to bring PGA TOUR tournament golf back to Detroit.”

Cadillac will take full advantage of the opportunities which will arise from a golf tournament and will set up vehicle display programs at the events which will be hosted by the Doral Resort. The exposure of the brand should be satisfactory for the carmaker, as the World Golf Championships usually hosts 50 players from the Official World Golf Ranking and top 10 from the current European Tour Order of Merit, among others.
