Michigan-based automaker Cadillac recently reported a 38 percent year-to-date sales increase, which marks the brand’s largest growth since 1976.
With May 2013 sales up 40 percent, Cadillac has reached its 12th consecutive month of sales growth, mostly thanks to its new ATS sport sedan that climbed by over 35 percent with 3,249 units sold.
In addition, the company says the XTS had its best retail sales last month, while the Escalade SUV has met its best May sales report since 2008 with 1,928 units delivered. Also, Cadillac’s total sedan portfolio is up 122 percent so far in 2013.
“Cadillac is back.” said Bob Ferguson, vice president, Global Cadillac. “Our growth is product-driven, new luxury vehicles with dramatic design and performance drawing new customers to showrooms.”
“Cadillac is growing faster than it has in almost 40 years, the pickup rebound is in full swing and we’re seeing strong retail demand for our crossovers” said Kurt McNeil, vice president of US sales operations. “These are all powerful signs that the gradual recovery in the economy is becoming more broad-based. That’s great news for the auto industry and General Motors.”
