Cadillac Debuts New Charity

Cadillac has debuted a new charity initiative, as the company was named the title sponsor of the National Kidney Foundation Golf Classic, one of the largest charity-destined amateur golf programs in the U.S.

During the course of the present year, over 30 local National Kidney Foundation Cadillac Golf Classic tournaments will take place at prestigious courses in major U.S. cities. The top three qualifying teams of four from each local event will take part in the NKF Cadillac Golf Classic National Championship at California's famed Pebble Beach in January 2011. The NKF Cadillac Golf Classic tournaments are open to all amateur golf players.

"Cadillac is proud to sponsor the National Kidney Foundation Golf Classic," said Ed Peper, Cadillac general sales manager. "Golf is an important promotional pillar for Cadillac since the sport attracts a key demographic.  Thousands of golfers participate every year to support this worthy cause and Cadillac is excited to partner with such a great organization that helps so many people."

"We're thrilled to welcome Cadillac to our golf classic," said John Davis, National Kidney Foundation CEO. "This partnership will enable NKF to enhance our tournaments and will enable us to provide additional support to the 26 million Americans, one in nine adults, with chronic kidney disease."

Since 1981, over 100,000 golfers have taken part in local NKF golf tournaments, helping to raise over $80 million for NKF community early detection screenings, public and professional education programs, patient support services, organ donation programs and research.
