Cadillac will roll out a long-wheelbase Escalade iQ. The upcoming variant will offer more space and more comfort to those sitting at the back and more cargo space.
The future long-wheelbase Cadillac Escalade iQ will be called iQL (iQ Long) and will obviously be a spacious luxury SUV. The electric Escalade is already longer than the ICE-powered Escalade and only three inches shorter than the long-wheelbase Escalade ESV.

Cadillac has not set a deadline for the arrival of the longer variant, but it surely is on its way to the US market, as confirmed by a representative of the brand in a conversation with Car and Driver at the 2024 Chicago Auto Show. The iQL should drop sometime this year to join the already extensive lineup.

If that happens, it should hit the market either in the last quarter of 2024 or the first of 2025. However, it won't happen before Cadillac starts delivering the standard-wheelbase iQ, which is scheduled to commence this upcoming summer.

The carmaker should keep the same styling with the vertical headlights flanking the intelligent grille shutters included. Vertical taillights mimic the light units at the front end. The iQ with extended wheelbase should retain all the design features, but not the proportions.

The standard variant is 224.3 inches (5,697 millimeters) long, which makes it 12.4 inches (315 millimeters) longer than the ICE-powered Escalade and, as previously mentioned, almost as long as the ESV version. The wheelbase stretches along 136.2 inches (3,460 millimeters), which is even longer than that of the Escalade ESV, which measures 134.1 inches (3,406 millimeters). The so-called eTrunk front luggage of the iQL will also offer more cargo space than what the iQ is currently offering: 12.2 cubic feet (344.4 liters).

The iQL will be underpinned by the same Ultium EV platform, which employs the high-voltage architecture supporting both 400-volt and 800-volt charging, with the letter enabling the range to go all the way to 100 miles (161 kilometers) in just 10 minutes.

The large 200-kWh battery pack provides the standard version with an impressive 450 miles (724 kilometers) of range. The figures might be slightly lower due to the extra weight of the extended-wheelbase model.

The long-wheelbase Escalade should carry over the powertrain of the standard-wheelbase version. This means that the dual-motor layout will bring 750 horsepower when the driver selects the Velocity Mode. That is enough to make the SUV run from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 kph) in under 5 seconds. Considering the extra weight of the iQL, the upcoming model will be a bit slower.

We should also expect a price hike for the extra length and space when the new variant hits the market later this year or in 2025, as reported Car and driver. The Cadillac Escalade iQ currently starts at $130,000.
