Cadillac has an entirely new production in its lineup. It's called the Escalade IQ, and it is an all-electric take on the famous model meant to ease the brand's giant leap into the world of EVs by the end of the decade because, if you forgot, they will ditch internal combustion engines.
To come up with the first-ever Escalade IQ, Cadillac used the Ultium platform. The model features a pair of electric motors that develop up to 750 horsepower and 785 pound-feet (1,064 Nm) of torque when engaging the Velocity Max mode. Otherwise, they are rated at 680 hp and 615 pound-feet (834 Nm).

Feeding electrons to the motors is a 200 kWh battery pack that needs to be plugged in for 10 minutes at a fast charging station to get 100 miles (161 km) of range. At a 19.2 kW connection, each hour will give it 37 miles (60 km), and should you go lower than that, like 7.7 kW, then it will add nearly 15 miles (24 km) of range hourly. The autonomy with the battery fully charged is approximately 450 miles (724 km), so you will be able to take the all-quiet model on a weekend getaway.

Due to the exclusive styling, you will surely notice it. The Cadillac Escalade IQ has an imposing face with a futuristic twist, vertical taillights, and a roofline that is a bit arched towards the rear, contributing to the sporty stance of the vehicle. It gets the usual massaging function for the seats, stowable tray tables, a big panoramic roof, and a few other features on the inside, so the premium touch is still there. Audiophiles will be glad to know there is a premium sound system from AKG on deck, and those into tech will certainly enjoy the two 12.6-inch screens, one for the infotainment system and the other for the digital dials.

As every petrolhead knows, Cadillac will only offer the Escalade IQ in a single body style, a five-door crossover. However, there are certain people who wonder what a pickup version would look like, and jlord8 on Instagram is one of them. Therefore, they set out to digitally revive the EXT suffix used from 2001 to 2013. The model looks the same as the real battery-electric crossover up to the rear pillars, and further back, it has extended quarter panels and a longer rear overhang that morph into an open bed.

We think that with the right advertising, GM's premium car brand would sell the Escalade IQ EXT in significant numbers, but would you do your part in that? Put that keyboard to work in the comments area below and tell us what you think of such a product.
