With such a limited amount of cars delivered for the 2020 model year, it’s no wonder the tuning scene for the C8 Corvette is a bit lacking on the visual front. A different suspension here, bling-bling wheels there, maybe a wrap, and that’s about it for the time being. While we wait for production to resume and the 2021 model year to roll out, the pixel artists are hard at work tuning the mid-engine sports car.
This rendering – coming courtesy of Victene Proulx – is a low-riding take on the eighth generation of the Corvette. In addition to dropping the ride height, the prominent spoiler lip and wide covers for the rocker panels make it impossible to drive this thing over a speed bump unless a nose-lifting system is added to the mix.
Double-spoke concave wheels, front fender louvers, racing canards with integrated LED daytime running lights, and a ginormous rear wing are also featured. The matte teal wrap makes this rendering all the more unusual, and combined with black accents, the visual theme would certainly turn heads if it were real.
The most extreme modification to the C8 Corvette appears to be the increased track width at the rear axle, which becomes all the more obvious if you take a look at the ginormous fender flares with additional air intakes for the V8. Speaking of which, every car rendering suffers from a limitation; namely, engine mods.
With the sports exhaust system of the Z51 Performance Package, the C8 Corvette Stingray is much obliged to pump out 495 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque from 6.2 liters of displacement. The aftermarket is currently converting the small-block V8 to twin-turbo and supercharged configurations, topping at 1,200 horsepower for the twin-turbo upgrade from Hennessey Performance Engineering.
The latest company to join the club is ProCharger of Accessible Technologies, Inc. The supercharger and turbomachinery manufacturer from Kansas is currently developing a 700-horsepower system for the C8 Corvette, and for even wilder builds, chances are you’ll need stronger rear axles. A rear-axle upgrade that withstands 1,500 horsepower is available from Cicio Performance at $1,997.98 per pair.
