Remember the Mercedes-AMG GT (C190) clip on the Nurburgring Nordschleife, which we showed you last week?
Back then we reported that the upcoming Mercedes-Benz sports car looked mighty composed as it attacked most of the corners of the Green Hell, but that was somewhat expected from a vehicle that is supposed to battle the Porsche 911 and whose chassis also developed by an ex-Porsche engineer.
Well, as it happens, the AMG GT will not be the only track-ready monster to spawn out of Affalterbach in the upcoming months, as the following spy video of the 2015 C 63 AMG W205 comes to inform us.
As you can see, this pre-production prototype of the small AMG sedan looks rather neutral as it tackles corners like the Carousel on the old Northern Loop of the Nurburgring, meaning that the production variant should be more than ready to battle or even beat the recently-announced BMW M3/M4 'Ring time of 7:52 minutes, especially since it will also be much more powerful than its rival from Munich.
Speaking of which, recent reports put the C 63 AMG W205 at developing 476 hp and 600+ Nm (443+ lb ft) of torque in “standard” guise, while the C 63 AMG S-Model should best that figure with at least 510 hp and 650 Nm (479 lb ft) of torque.
Paired with an updated variant of the tried and true seven-speed multi-clutch gearbox from the current generation of the model, it should naught to 100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration times similar or even better than the 4.1 seconds of the BMW M3 F80 with its seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Set to shed quite a lot of weight compared with the current model, the 2015 C 63 AMG will get the M177 variant of the recently-unveiled M178 eight-cylinder, a twin-turbocharged four-liter V8 that will also power other AMG models in the nearby future.
According to recent reports, the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG W205 is to be unveiled at the 2014 LA Auto Show in November, although a 2014 Paris Motor Show appearance isn't yet out of the question.
