Buick LaCrosse Reaches 100,000 Units Sales Milestone in China

Last month the Buick LaCrosse entered the spotlights as one example of the car became the No. 1 millionth General Motors vehicle sold on the Chinese market in 2010.

Now that the vehicle scored one for the GM team, it is time for it to get a solo victory. Less than a year after it was introduced to the Chinese market, the LaCrosse reached the 100,000 units sales landmark.

The LaCrosse, which was redesigned for 2009, has been praised for its exterior styling and luxurious interior. It features a suite of advanced personal technologies and safety features that rate among the best in the industry. The LaCrosse has received several prestigious awards in China, including 2009 China Car of the Year and 2009 Champion Car of the Year,” stated the press release.

The vehicle is the fastest-growing member of the Chinese premium upper-medium sedan segment. In the first six months of the current year, the LaCrosse equipped with the 3.0 liter SIDI range-topping model managed to claim almost 80 percent of the segment’s sales.

Its direct-injection 3.0-liter SIDI V-6 engine creates more power with less fuel consumption and lower vehicle emissions than similar models through greater combustion control – particularly cold-start emissions,” stated the press release, describing the vehicle's flagship powerplant.

The car’s engine range also includes two other gas units: a 2.0 liter turbocharged powerplant (this offers the highest output in its class) and a Ecotec 2.4 liter four-cylinder unit, which is aimed at offering increased fuel efficiency.
