Bugatti CEO and President Wolfgang Durheimer recently stated that the new four-door luxury car to top all others, the Galibier, would enter production in the autumn of 2012. It seemed like an open and shut case of making the few remaining models of the Veyron and switching to the new car, but things have changes a lot in the recent couple of months.
Due to the fact that the project has fallen short of the company boss expectations, a rethink has to take place. Durheimer said that around half of the Veyron owners were invited to experience the Galibier and many were disappointed, which led to a company investigation that brought the conclusion that it had to be reinvented.
Much like the Veyron was delayed a number of years, so too will the Galibier concept’s transition into the production Royale, as it will reportedly be called. According to the German publication Auto Motor und Sport, we can’t expect to see the car on the road until 2015.
IT was a worthwhile wait when VW Group gave birth to a new hypercar legend, but we’re really curious to see how they will keep the brand going for at least four years, given that all the media attention is turned to them.

The design will be different, especially from the B-pillar back, the ingress and regress to the rear seats will be improved, as will the legroom and ergonomics, the car will be a little longer, and the power of the engine will be at least four figures.”
