BMW’s latest M3, the F80 model, is probably the most anticipated one of the last 15 years and that’s because it will be the first one that uses turbochargers and it will return to the trademark inline 6-cylinder architecture of the company.
The model that came before it, wearing various E9x codenames, was ofter regarded as a sort of anomaly in the 5 generations of M3 cars with its big 4-liter V8. Even so, everyone agreed that it was an incredible machine.

For the 2015 model, BMW wanted to make everything from scratch. If you’re thinking only about the underpinnings, you’re wrong. When they said everything, they meant it and, the car was introduced in a new paint color, dubbed Yas Marina Blue.

Inspired by the Formula 1 track using the same name from Abu Dhabi, the color has various hues, depending on the lighting and intensity of light, going from a baby blue shade to a deeper tone. Car spotter CarNinja got lucky just the other day and spotted one such car in the wild, near his HQ.

During a beautiful sunny day, the YMB car looks absolutely breathtaking, in our opinion even better than the Austin Yellow M4 that was also introduced for the first time earlier this year at the Detroit Auto Show (don’t be fooled, that one is also quite special, featuring the same weird changes of hue depending on the lighting).

Since the car is wearing an ‘BMW M Performance’ front license plate, we’re guessing it was nearby for a photo shoot but we can’t be too sure. Either way, a shoot did take place, even though it wasn’t official.
