BMW X6 Gets Official Launch Film

The video posted by BMW on their Youtube account that you probably already noticed on your TV screen in commercial breaks from your favorite shows, is nearly 3 minutes long and makes absolutely no sense.

Ok, so we do understand that the X6 appeals to the non-conformist in you and that it’s supposed to be more luxurious and extravagant than the F15 X5 but things get a little out of control here.

The clip starts with a middle-aged man walking around a pool where only 20-year old photo models can apparently swim. After flirting with one, our man heads to his Individual car and smiles when he sees it, as if she was his long lost high-school girlfriend.

He then proceeds to some spirited driving on an empty highway along the coast that leads to an heliport. Once there, the man decides to race the helicopter? We didn’t really understand what is going on in the next few seconds of the clip.

After this encounter, he somehow ends up in a secluded reservation somewhere in the desert, where he meets up with friends at some sort of ranch, where rich people go to ride their expensive horses. Of course, our man doesn’t even stop but rather covers them all up in dust. Last, but not least, as the sun goes down, our middle-aged protagonist ends up on the shore once again, admiring his yacht.

That’s about it and it has to be one of the most weird launch films we’ve ever seen. And there have been a couple over the years. Even the one for the X4 looked better and made more sense. We guess that when you really want to send a strong message to your potential buyers, you might want to make sure you don’t go overboard. Otherwise, you might end up with a clip just like this that really reminds us of the ‘Opulence, I has it’ Russian guy...
