BMW VED Concept Spotted on Mission Impossible 4 Set

Mission Impossible 4 was filming in Mumbai, India with a rolling example of the BMW Vision EfficientDynamics concept on hand and ready for its closeup, and TeamBHP was there to shoot the car as it negotiates India’ traffic-clogged streets.

A traffic jam was simulated using second-hand cars from Mahindra First Choice Wheels. “There were approximately 50-60 bouncers all over the venue to ensure that photographs weren't taken with nearly 10 of them guarding the BMW Vision EfficientDynamics. I tried to take a close up shot of the 5 series camera car, but a bouncer snatched my camera away with a stern warning that next time, my camera will be impounded. After the shoot started, we positioned ourselves on the foot-over bridge from where we could get clear shots and avoid the bouncers as well. I have pics of both the cars, except the 5 series camera car,” TeamBHP reports.

The shots of the set, taken by a bystander, confirm that the striking concept car will play a major role in the film, mostly likely with the lead character, Ethan Hunt, played by actor Tom Cruise, behind the wheel. It’s prety clear that BMW will have strong links with the upcoming blockbuster, as a 2012 6-Series Convertible was also reportedly on the scene.

Mission Impossible: The Ghost Protocol is scheduled to be released later this year, while filming is currently taking place at locations in Dubai, the UK, Canada, and now, India as well.

BMW is keeping its lips tight about the production version of the concept, the i8, but at least they seem serious enough to feature it in a movie.
