The moment has come for BMW USA to analyze their results over the last month and, surprisingly, the numbers are better than ever. Literally. In October, BMW sold 11 percent more cars compared to the same period last year, adding up to a grand total of 30,602 units.
Over the first 10 months of the year, BMW sales have gone up 12 percent compared to 2013, adding up to 267,193 units, prompting the CEO of the North American branch to say:

“The momentum is still with us as shown by back-to-back monthly records for BMW in October and September. Our new models, especially the 2 and 4 Series, are giving BMW a great boost as we head into the final two months of the year but I am also very pleased to see our born-electric BMW i3 doing so well, averaging a thousand per month in sales after only four months on the market.”

Combined, the group’s three brands totaled 35,902 units moved in the month, an increase of 7.9 percent from the 33,274 units sold in October 2013. Furthermore, on a year-to-date basis, the growth reached 6.1 percent, despite bad sales figures for the MINI brand. Overall, 311,681 units were sold Stateside by BMW under one brand or another.

MINI posted a decrease of 7 percent in sales compared to the tenth month of the previous year. The British brand moved just 5,300 units, 400 less than the 5,700 pushed 12 months before. On a year-to-date basis things are looking worse, MINI USA posting a decrease in demand of 19.6 percent, adding up to just 44,488 units. Most of this downfall is due to the introduction of the new model but things are expected to start picking up next year.
