This week Bimota will show their new 4- cylinder sportsbike concept at EICMA in Milan, Italy, and the mass-production motorcycle will be powered by the acclaimed BMW S 1000 RR engine.
Witha long tradition in supersport motorcycles, running a BMW engine is not a first for Bimota. Back in 1995, the BMW F 650 engine powered the Bimota BB1 Supermoto 167 kg (368 lbs) machine, reaching 196 km/h (121.8 mph).

It looks like Bimota are up to something spectacular once more and they think that the 59.8 kg (132 lbs) engine is the best they can get. Delivering a staggering 142 kW @ 13,000 rpm, the BMW S 1000 RR has already proved to be a high-performance power unit, with excellent capabilities to cope with high-speeds and sporting outstanding resilience in racing conditions. Looking forward to see the new Bimota project these days.
