BMW Released MINI Anniversary Lifestyle Collection

MINI turning fifty this year has been over-discussed these past few weeks, yet BMW keeps on throwing a new "something" every now and then to remind us of the anniversary.

Today, BMW's 50 Years Collection has been released, featuring clothing and accessories for the MINI owners and fans, just in time for the MINI United birthday festival at Silverstone in the UK.

The collection covers a wide range of women, men and accessories items, but we will present only some of the highlights, such as the parka, the bags, the sneakers and the sunglasses.

Since the sixties, the parka kept its fashionable status, facing the fast changing trends. MINI is now offering its version of the classic M51 Fishtail design. The olive-green unisex 50Y parka comes with a velcro fastener on the left sleeve, enabling you to attach patches as you like.

The 50Y Shopping Bags come in different sizes and inspire a retro look, featuring draws on vintage themes of the sixties, with motifs like London, Monte Carlo and the Costa Azzurra.

The 50Y Anniversary Sneaker Edition was born in collaboration with Onitsuka Tiger and is comprised of sneakers in brown leather with grey contrast stripes as well as the 50Y Mayfair style in grey leather with turquoise stripes. The insoles are inspired from the MINI car seats, while the metal shoelace eyelets are inspired by the chrome on the headlights.

Last, but not the least, the aviator-style 5Y Sunglasses feature the Union Jack design on the inside frame and the MINI logo on both earpieces.

To mark the anniversary, several events, materials and special editions have been released, startong with the book “MINI: The True and Secret History of the Making of a Motorcar", to special vehicle editions like George Harrison, MINI Mayfair and MINI Camden at the MINI United Festival.
