It was obvious that BMW’s intriguing and extremely hot R nineT was destined to become a star. And as the world’s top modders started working on their own interpretations of the R nineT, it was only a matter of time until the bike also got yet another aftermarket exhaust. This time it’s AC Schnitzer’s turn to bestow its magic on the BMW roadster.
Too bad the German aftermarket manufacturer is not providing with any technical details on the new silencer, so we cannot convey too much relevant data on this add-on. Customers might expect pretty much the same things from any aftermarket exhaust: shaving some weight off the bike, adding some extra power and torque in certain rpm ranges and the tonal distinction which is specific to the top-notch manufacturers.

Unfortunately, the sound of the BMW R nineT-specific AC Schnitzer only made me replay the sequence because I thought I was hearing the wrong sound track. As far as I am concerned, I’d rather say that this can sounds rather high-pitched and somehow flappy and yelping, completely to the muscular tone I was expecting. If you want, a much too retro sound, better suitable for the 250cc of the 50’s than for a 2014 1200cc boxer. But again, maybe it’s only me.

AC Schnitzer also mentions a steering conversion kit and a Cardan Crash Pad, but info on them is even scarcer.
