Thinking about BMW's new UKL platform that will bring forth 15 to 20 new models in the BMW and MINI line-up, the guys from Auto Express seem to be pretty certain that one of them will be the rumored Z2.
How they came to this conclusion? Well, a roadster smaller than the Z4 has been a priority at BMW for quite a while now and, even though we had the Z3, in recent years that model's been gone, needing a replacement.
So, in light of this new, modular platform, the Z2 seems more plausible than ever. Furthermore, it could be FWD but that won't go well with the die-hard fans. However, it could be preferred by another demographic.
Still according to Auto Express, the new car would benefit from the 1.5-liter, 3-cylinder B38 engine and CFRP technology, to make it lighter and faster, whilst also keeping CO2 emissions below 100 g/km.
All this sounds very good, AE, but will it ever happen? What do you think?
