It took BMW's M Division many decades to realize it needed a Touring version of the M3 in its family, so they've made one. It was unveiled last summer as a rival to the likes of the Mercedes-AMG C 63 Estate and Audi RS 4 Avant, and it is a great daily that renders the company's sporty crossovers useless – unless you really like stuff such as the X3 M.
Offered in the Competition guise with standard xDrive all-wheel drive, the BMW M3 Touring uses the familiar 3.0-liter twin-turbo straight-six. Connected to an eight-speed automatic gearbox, the engine produces 503 hp (510 ps/375 kW) and 479 lb-ft (650 Nm) of torque. It enables the 0 to 62 mph (0-100 kph) in 3.6 seconds and allows it to keep going up to 174 mph (280 kph).

Such grunt should be enough for most petrolheads, but if you feel there's room for improvement, then various tuners have your back. G-Power has its name written on the list with their G3M Touring Bi-Turbo. Their proposal brings a few enhancements to the straight-six lump powering the car, which lift the output and torque to even more impressive numbers. With everything up and running, this M3 Touring has 710 hp (720 ps/530 kW) and 627 lb-ft (850 Nm) and can exceed 205 mph (330 kph).

Pricing for these goodies is set at €30,940 ($37,110) in Germany, including tax, and besides the GP-720 performance software and v-max increase, the car also gets a new exhaust system and a few other bits and bobs. Professional installation is included, as long as you're willing to take a trip to their shop, which will never happen if you live in the United States for the simple fact that the M3 Touring isn't marketed over here. Less powerful upgrades are in store at G-Power, including one that brings 611 hp (620 ps/456 kW) and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) in exchange for €22,610 ($24,720).

Power boost aside, the pictured BMW M3 Touring has additional stuff worth mentioning, like the new carbon fiber hood. Some add-ons at the front made of the same lightweight material are also included, and the grille, albeit still oversized, is new. The side skirts are a bit sportier here, and the rear diffuser and skirt element are new. G-Power gave it different wheels with a larger diameter, smoked the taillights, and replaced the Munich marque's roundels with their own logo. The premium compact super wagon has a matte green exterior, which is probably a wrap, contrasted by several black elements. Chances are the interior hasn't been tuned, as G-Power hasn't released any images of it, but it's not like it needs any upgrades, as it is already sporty enough straight from the factory.
