Drifting is the thing nowadays and, from those who aren't old enough to see over the steering wheel to well to just about any kind of driver you can imagine, there will always be somebody willing to do the dance.
And when we're talking about drivers hitting the Nurburgring, the desire to slide obviously reaches the sky. However, with drifting being verboten on the Green Hell, a certain BMW driver seems to have found an alternative to sliding on the track.

To be more precise, the man decided to throw his M240i sideways... on the roads that surround the Nordschleife. And this wasn't a one-time fantasy. Oh no. The guy burned rubber on tons and tons of roads that sit just outside the infamous German circuit, from scenarios that saw him being alone out there to those that involve going at it in traffic.

And while most of the dorifto action takes places in the dry, the driver wasn't shy when it came to pulling such maneuver in the company of the rain.

As for his machine, we already mentioned this is a BMW M240i - with the mid-cycle revamp (that's LCI or Life Cycle Impulse in Bimmer language), the 2 Series saw the M135i being replaced by the M240i, which, as we've shown you in the past, can get dangerously close to the M2 in a straight line battle.

However, the M Performance animal isn't nearly as playful as the M car when it comes to tackling the twisty bits. And this is where the aftermarket side of the story steps in, with the Bimmer we have here having received a Drexler limited slip differential. Oh, and we should also mention the straight pipe exhaust setup, which allows the otherwise modest soundtrack of the car's turbocharged straight-six to earn some extra aggression points.

While we're at it, we should also mention that this driver also drifted his M240i for a full lap of the Nordschleife before taking to the street. Nevertheless, we're asking you not to take his dangerous stunts as an example.
