BMW just announced 5 new apps for iPhone users, compatible with the iDrive system. The latest partners offering BMW-approved apps include Deezer, Napster, TuneIn, Audible and Glympse.
These new services will broaden the flexibility and usability of the industry's leading smartphone integration solution, especially since the drivers can use them through the iDrive controller.
Uwe Higgen, Head of the App Center in Munich said that in the near future, BMW owners can expect even more surprises in this field, as the BMW App Center supplies interested app developers with a Software Development Kit that allows them to access the iDrive system and display using Apps for Automotive technology.
"Deezer, Napster by Rhapsody, TuneIn Radio, Audible and Glympse have A4A built in, which allows these systems to be integrated seamlessly into the driver-oriented BMW and MINI control and operation system,” said Higgen.
