According to BMW official, Ian Robertson, the upcoming i3, BMW's all-electric city-car is a success even before being officially unveiled. How come?
Well, the Chief of BMW Sales said that the company has approximately 100,000 reservations world-wide from customers interested in the i3. Furthermore, most of them are apparently determined to buy it, due to its impressive technology.

"We are confident that with the i3 and i8 we will shift the [customer demand] needle because we will shape some of this technology in the EV sector," said Robertson for Autonews Europe.

The new EV will be unveiled at Frankfurt in September and will be different from all the other competitors because it was built as an electric car from scratch, instead of just fitting an electric motor inside a conventional car.

As for the price tag for this vehicle, he said that the i3 will be priced close to a 3 Series and a bit more expensive for the range-extender version.
