The importance of the first bespoke built electric car in the premium segment was not lost on BMW. The launch even yesterday was absolutely huge, bigger than any we've seen this year for one particular model. Three simultaneous events were held, on in New York, one in London and one in Beijing.
But that's not the half of it. After the covers were figuratively pulled, the i3 got itself in the party mood together with 600 guests welcoming it into the world. Among them, a group of starts included actors Sienna Miller and James Franco.
“Being a new mother I am very passionate about making green changes in my life to leave a better world for the next generation. 100% electric as well as stylish is something brand new which no one else offers making the BMW i3 the perfect city car for me”, said Sienna Miller.
Just like the i3, Sienna is a globetrotter. She was born in New York but was raised in London.
James Franco was equally taken with the BMW i3: “As a champion of art and design I love the way BMW has managed to combine style, functionality and technology. This car makes being green cool, which is really important.”
