For the last 40 years, BMW has been involved in all sorts of cultural cooperations worldwide. This year, they joined hands with the London Symphony Orchestra to bring outstanding classical music free for everyone in an informal atmosphere.
This year's performance was the second of this kind, following last year's success. The orchestra performed a special arrangement of the “Symphonie fantastique” by composer Gareth Glyn and Hector Berlioz's "Le Corsaire" overture.
Over the course of the concert, the Orchestra was joined by young musicians from LSO On Track, an award-wining music education and community program and students from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.
“The LSO is delighted that their partnership with BMW continued so successfully on this Bank Holiday Monday and that so many people took up our invitation. We are already looking forward to next year’s concert," said Kathryn McDowell, Managing Director of the LSO.
“We are proud to contribute to the diverse cultural landscape of this extraordinary city,” added Dr Ian Robertson, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG, greeting the audience on the square.
