Summer is here and most of us will start using the AC on a daily basis to protect ourselves from the scorching heat outside (at least that's the case in most of the US). However, after a long winter, you might be surprised to find out that your AC isn't working properly.
The air conditioning system should blow ice cold air into the cabin once the air vent dials are set to cold. That means that a couple of minutes in front of them should turn you into Frosty the snowman.

If that's not the case, your AC is faulty in some way. Usually, the most common problem is some refrigerant leaks. This problem is so common that we could as well consider filling up the system a maintenance issue.

So, excepting the big problems, you can sort this our by following an easy DIY that will take around 5 minutes to complete. You'll need a can of R134a freon. Be sure to pick up one that already has a gauge, otherwise you'll need to get one from a friend or a shop.

The rest of the process is a simple filling up procedure, explained perfectly here. The whole thing should take around 5 minutes max and will keep you cool throughout the summer. Enjoy!
